Clos du Bois, from Allied Domecq Wines, released two ultra-premium wines: the 1999 Marlstone ($39) is a blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 36% merlot, 8% malbec and 1% cabernet franc; it is said to have concentrated fruit flavors of ripe dark cherries and blueberries and a long, silky finish. The 1999 Briarcrest ($36) is made from 100% cabernet sauvignon grapes; with forward fruit of blackberries and black cherries, the wine finishes with smooth ripe tannins.
