The Boston Beer Company.(Business Briefs)

The Boston Beer Company has signed an agreement with Diageo North America, Inc. to acquire a brewery located 60 miles outside of Philadelphia, for $55 million. The purchase is expected to take place in late spring 2008, and will be a welcome addition to breweries the company owns and operates in Boston and Cincinnati.

All new recipes, the company says, will continue to be developed and perfected at the home brewery in Boston.
