Analysis by Giga Information Group, of Cambridge, Mass., shows that corporations have not sufficiently evaluated cost, business benefits and risks of Windows 2000 Professional deployment.

Windows 2000 Professional is as much as 83 percent more reliable than prior versions of the Windows desktop operating system and Windows 2000 Server scored similar performance gains, reducing unnecessary server reboots by 64 percent compared with Windows NT Server 4.0. The improved Windows 2000 Professional reliability translates into tangible ROI: corporations said their end users gained an average of nearly two additional hours of productivity per week.
