SUN OFFERS MAINFRAME-CLASS WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT ON UNIX SERVER.(Web-based Enterprise Management Dynamic Reconfiguration)

Becoming the first and only vendor to offer sophisticated, mainframe-class workload management capabilities on a UNIX server, Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW), Santa Clara, Calif., has introduced Web-based Enterprise Management Dynamic Reconfiguration (WDR) on its Sun Fire(TM) Midframe and high-end 3800-15K servers. With the help of workload monitoring and measurement tools developed by BMC Software, Inc., such as PATROL(TM) for Sun Automated Dynamic Reconfiguration, WDR will allow customers to automate the changing of hardware resources to coincide with shifts in user demand.
