NAVAL RESEARCH LAB INSTALLS 128-PROCESSOR SGI ALTEX 3000.

SGI (NYSE:SGI) has announced that the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Washington, D.C., is the company's first customer under its global beta program to install a 128-processor single system image SGI(R) Altix(TM) 3000 supercomputer. The record-setting system will help military and civilian researchers push the boundaries of open-source Linux applications to solve some of the most challenging computational problems.
