Pac-West Telecom Joins Efficient-Networks Dsl Partner Program
Tele-Service News, Dec, 1999
Efficient Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFNT), a supplier of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) customer premises equipment (CPE), has announced that Pac-West Telecomm, Inc., a west coast integrated communications provider (ICP), has joined the Efficient SpeedStream Partner (ESP) Program.
Efficient's ESP Program is designed to enable Internet service providers (ISPs), competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), and value-added resellers (VARs) to successfully deploy Efficient Networks' SpeedStream DSL CPE. Through Efficient's ESP Program, more ISPs and consumers will be assured of affordable and reliable DSL services.
As the newest member of the ESP Program, Pac-West is now delivering SpeedStream DSL CPE to its ISP and business customers as part of its DSL service offerings provided through Covad Communications.
"Pac-West represents the first facilities-based voice CLEC to join our ESP program," said Jeff Bergstrom, senior channel development manager at Efficient Networks. "Pac-West's expertise in delivering voice and data services to ISPs and businesses makes the company an ideal match for Efficient as we continue to expand our product solutions to include both data and voice over DSL access products."
Pac-West will supply its ISP customers ordering DSL lines with Efficient's SpeedStream 5250 LAN modem, which easily connects to the Ethernet port on a personal computer, laptop or workstation and requires no setup or configuration procedure, making it ideal for consumers.
DSL technology allows for high-speed Internet access using the copper phone wires located in nearly all businesses and homes today. Once installed, the high-speed connection is secure, always on, and always available.
