"Protegrity has always been committed to supporting the heterogeneous enterprise infrastructure, which is the business reality for organizations," said Gordon Rapkin, president and CEO of Protegrity. "Truly effective security solutions require an enterprise-wide policy that protects sensitive data from acquisition to deletion -- and all uses in between. Our customers rely on Protegrity to deliver consistent support across all platforms and keep pace with ever-changing IT environments."
Secure.Data for Linux adds to Protegrity's market-leading database and platform support available with Secure.Data. Secure.Data is currently used by enterprises for securing data stored in Oracle, Teradata, DB/2, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Sybase databases. The product operates on a range of platforms including Windows, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, the IBM mainframe and the NCR MP-RAS platform for Teradata.
"In addition to its multi-platform support, Secure.Data offers important advantages over other data security solutions available for Linux users," said Jeannine Bartlett, vice president of product strategy for Protegrity. Differentiators cited by Bartlett include the following:
* Minimized threat of database intrusion from internal sources. Secure.Data gives organizations the ability to separate data security responsibilities from data administration.
* Ability to centralize the establishment, ongoing management, and auditing of security policies across all policies for increased assurance of meeting regulatory security requirements.
* A streamlined interface that gives companies the ability to set up and implement comprehensive, centralized security policies and auditing procedures in a single day.
Companies use Protegrity's solutions to address immediate security needs and comply with global banking and legal regulations. Customers rely on Protegrity for compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (which encompass Visa CISP and MasterCard SDP), Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and California SB 1386.
