A small automatic, hydraulic injection molding machine, designated GM 10 and manufactured by Hahn & Kolb, Stuttgart, Germany, is reported to be the first small injection molder for thermoplastic materials employing rapid cycling, efficient plasticization, and self-acting nozzle closure. GM 10 has a shot weight of 1 oz, plasticizing rate of 17.5 lb/hr, injection pressure of 11,350 psi, and mold locking power of 11 tons.
