BP has invested US$6 billion in Indonesia BP has invested around US$6 billion over the years it has operated in Indonesia. The company has invested fund in oil and gas and chemical projects since 1971. Most of its projects are in the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry. BP has stakes in a number of joint venture companies including PT Petrokimia Nusantara Interindo, PT Amaco Mitsui PTA Indonesia, PT Polytama Propindo and PT Kaltim Prima Coal.
BP has become one of the largest foreign companies operating in the oil and gas sector in Indonesia and it is the main supplier of natural gas to domestic consumers.
