Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, Calif., entered into a $25,698,000 technology investment agreement with DARPA on June 15, 2001. The government is funding $12,542,000 of the agreement, with $2,690,450 being awarded at this time. The consortium led by Hewlett-Packard is providing $13,156,000 of the agreement funding.

Consortium members include the University of California, Los Angeles, Calif., and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa. The effort will design and create molecular electronics integrated circuits. Work will be performed in Palo Alto, Calif. (48%), Los Angeles, Calif. (44%), and Pittsburgh, Pa.
