On 13 September, the Portugal Telecom group announced a net profit of Euro 200 million for the first half of 2001, down by 30% compared to the same period for the prior year (Euro 286 million). For the first time, these results consolidate the Lusomundo media group and 41.2% (instead of 29.92%) of the Brazilian mobile phone operator Telesp Celular.
