ITU SETS UP INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTRE IN JAPAN.(ITU-Waseda Information and Communication Technology Centre)

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) announced on May 28 has established the ITU-Waseda Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre, in co-operation with Waseda University of Japan. The Centre will provide support to the telecommunication standardisation and development activities of the ITU by providing expertise in IT networking, mobile communication, network security, digital content creation and other emerging technologies. The Centre will also work with the ITU in the area of human resource development for information and communication technologies by providing graduate training programmes as well as seminars and workshops that will support standardisation and development activities.
