ERICSSON SEEKS INCREASED SHARE IN SYMBIAN TO BLOCK NOKIA.(Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson)(Symbian Ltd.)(Brief Article)

The Swedish telecommunications manufacturer Ericsson is planning to increase its stake in the mobile phone software designer Symbian. This is to prevent its Finnish competitor Nokia from becoming the majority shareholder, according to a report in the Financial Times on March 22. The managing director of Ericsson Carl Henric Svanberg told the UK economics daily that his company was coordinating its actions with Sony Ericsson, its subsidiary created with the Japanese company Sony, to reach this end.
