INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY : NO DELAYED LAUNCH FOR VISTA IN EUROPE DESPITE THE RISKS.

Microsoft announced on 13 October, that its new operating system, Vista, would be available on markets worldwide in January 2007, as originally intended. Neelie Kroes's Competition Commission services were quick to respond by saying that Vista has not yet been given the green light by the European Commission. Microsoft, sure of its product, has therefore chosen to take full responsibility and face the potential dangers represented by the European anti-trust decision of March 2004 against the software giant. The Windows Media player affair is still ongoing and Kroes has been harbouring reservations about Vista since March but Microsoft is confident.
