The introduction of a Europe-wide register, in which artists can set out their professional experience and details of past employers, is one idea proposed by the European Parliament's Culture Committee, in a report adopted on 7 May.
The report is focused on improving the recognition and support given to people who choose a career as a professional artist. The idea of the register is that it would provide a service similar to the Europass system, which consists of a portfolio of standard documents, including a Europass CV, which make it easier to get qualifications and skills recognised across borders.
