DIGITAL TELEVISION : BROADCASTERS ON GUARD AGAINST INTERFERENCE.

According to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the future of digital TV could be adversely affected by decisions which will be taken at the ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07), which runs from 22 October to 16 November under the aegis of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency of the United Nations. The EBU is dreading above all the introduction of mobile telephone services on the UHF Bands IV and V (470-862 MHz), currently used for digital and terrestrial TV broadcasting in several European countries, and it warns of the risks of interference.
