French President Nicolas Sarkozy's private life is dominating the European news to the detriment of fundamental political debates, declared German MEP Martin Schulz in Strasbourg on 15 January. The Socialist leader at the European Parliament considers "worrying" the fact that Sarkozy is at the centre of the tabloid press and that "there is nothing substantial to say on the political level".a"Climate change, the future of Kosovo and the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty are the three main priorities of the Slovenian Presidency over the next six months.
