AGREEMENT ON GALILEO.(Brief article)

The European Parliament and the Council are now on track to an agreement regarding the European satellite navigation programme Galileo. A compromise was found during a meeting, on 3 April, which should allow for a quick adoption of the proposal on the deployment phases and the operation of the system. The compromise was ratified in Coreper on 4 April and submitted to transport ministers on 7 April in Luxembourg. But, as an expert on this dossier says, "unless there's an unforeseen event of unimaginable size," everything leads them to believe that the agreement will hold.
