While the EU is making progress on the internet front, some 40% of European citizens do not use the net at all. In a new report on the i2010 initiative, published on 18 April, the European Commission provides details and identifies lagging regions(1).

On the whole, the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector is research-intensive, with levels above the United States in Sweden (18%), Finland (17%) and Denmark (11%).
