The European Commission decided, on 27 November, to bring Spain before the EU Court of Justice for failure to comply with the rules on advertising in the Television Without Frontiers Directive, the new version of which entered into force on 19 December 2007. Advertising and teleshopping spots on the main public and commercial TV channels in Spain regularly exceed - often by several minutes - the limit of 12 minutes per hour.
