TURKEY: IMF STILL HOPEFUL OF AGREEMENT OVER TURKISH FINANCES.

According to Aksam, head of the International Monetary Fund's Turkey Desk, Carlo Cottarelli, who is in Turkey for the negotiations on the stand-by agreement, said, "I am still hopeful that we could leave Turkey with a 'letter of good intent'. It may take more than a week but certainly less than two." Following his meetings with directors of some banks and with members of TUSIAD's Executive Board, Cottarelli responded to questions posed to him by journalists.
