SYRIA: 11 NATIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURERS RECEIVE ISO 9002 AWARD.

According to Teshreen newspaper (November 16, 1999), the number of operating pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises in Syria has grown to 50, up from 11 enterprises in 1970. Recently, 11 national pharmaceutical companies received the ISO 9002 Award from the World Health Organization. A further 7 local pharmaceutical manufacturing companies are currently preparing to receive this award.
