ISRAEL: INTERNET PROTOCOL COMMUNICATIONS HUB TO GO.(Telecom Italia, MED-1 submarine cables in telecommunications network)(Brief Article)

According to Israel Line, Telecom Italia will procure an additional 29 percent share of the MED-1 submarine cables venture, as the company embarks on a project this April to set up a telecommunications network between Israel, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece and Italy, HA'ARETZ reported. The company's Lev submarine system, operational since March 1999, links Israel, Cyprus and Italy in a 2,600-kilometer fiber optic network.
