ISRAEL: BIGGEST DEAL IN THE HISTORY OF THE ISRAELI HI-TECH INDUSTRY.(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

According to Israel Line (May 31), in the biggest deal in the history of the Israeli hi-tech industry, US Lucent Technologies announced today that it will acquire Chromatis Networks, an Israeli company specializing in metro optical networking systems, for approximately 78 million shares of Lucent common stock, valued at about $4.5 billion, GLOBES reported.
The technology is inclined to cut the cost of building metro optical networks by one-half.
