MIDDLE EAST: NISSAN BATTLES SPREAD OF FORGED SPARE PARTS.(Brief Article)
IPR Strategic Business Information Database, December, 2000
According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper (December 9, 2000), the Nissan-Middle East Company, based in Dubai, has recently undertaken measures to fight the spread of fake spare parts in the region. The company warned against these fake spare car parts, which are usually re-packaged and presented as Nissan's original spare car parts.
The company informed the related official authorities about this issue. The company sources added that large quantities of fake spare car parts are illegally manufactured in the Far East and not in coordination with the company's specifications. These fake spare car parts are then shipped, re-packaged and sold in the Arabian Gulf states as Nissan's original products.
