UAE: NIGHT CLUB SHUT DOWN FOR HOSTING GAY PARTY.(Diamond night club)(Brief Article)

According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper (April 2, 2001), the Emirates authorities have ignored the repeated public complaints about the behavior of the people visiting the "Diamond" night club in Dubai. However, the Tourism and Trade Department was shocked and embarrassed yesterday, as the club organized and hosted a party for homosexuals.
This time, the authorities had no choice other than to shut down the place. The club's closure order was personally signed by the Emirates Minister of Defense and the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid. The director of this club had invited a special professional from the UK to plan this party. Most of the operating European expatriates in the UAE were informed about this so-called "Fluffy" party through advertisements.
