LEBANON: DOLLAR-LINKED GOVERNMENT BOND ISSUE.

According to Al-Mustaqbal newspaper, the Lebanese Government has nominated Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley to organize all aspects of the U.S. dollar-linked government bond issue. The newspaper quotes from a statement made in mid-June 2000 by the Lebanese Ministry of Finance, announcing a $400-million bond issue at 9.125% interest.
