EGYPT: NEW E-COMMERCE COMPANY ESTABLISHED.

Al-Quds newspaper reported that an agreement to establish an Egyptian e-commerce company was signed at the end of August 2000 between CITIBANK (EGYPT) and the Raya Holding Company. Taking part in a news briefing held after the signing ceremony were Minister of Communications, Ahmed Nadhif; Chairman of the Board of the Raya Holding Company, Madhat Khalil; Deputy Chairman of the Board of Raya, Khaled Aljabari; and Vice President of CITIBANK, Drew Tana.
The new company will be called SIRANET and will begin operating during the first quarter of 2001.
