SAUDI ARABIA: LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES SIGNS $20 MILLION CONTRACT.(Major telecommunications deal)(International Pages)(Brief Article)

According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper (September 5, 2001), industry sources reveal that Lucent Technologies recently signed a 72 million Saudi riyal ($20 million) contract with the Saudi Advanced Electronics Limited Company in Riyadh. The Saudi company will manufacture and test telecommunication components for a number of telecommunication, Internet and mobile telephone projects run by Lucent-Saudi Arabia.
In particular, the Advanced Electronics Company will manufacture 1,900 units of the LBZ circuit plates to satisfy the requirements of sixth telecommunication expansion project in the kingdom.
