ARGENTINA: TELECOM PERSONAL SELECTS COMVERSE SOLUTIONS FOR ITS NEW GSM NETWORK.(global system for mobile communication)(Brief Article)

Telecom Personal, the largest mobile phone company in Argentina, has selected Israel-based Comverse to provide its ISMSC (Intelligent Short Messaging Service Center) solution for Personal's new nation-wide GSM network. Telecom Personal is Argentina's leading wireless operator serving more than 2 million subscribers.
The Company has invested about $1 billion in its new digital network that is replacing the Company's 1996 analog national TDMA 1900 MHz network. Personal is a Telecom Group company, of which Telecom Argentina (Telecom Italia - France Telecom) owns a 99.9 % share and Publicom S.A. the remainder 0.1%. -(World IT Report)
