ISRAEL: BRITISH AIRWAYS REDUCES FLIGHTS TO TEL AVIV.(Brief Article)

IPR Strategic Business Information Database, October, 2001

UK Airline Company British Airways announced it would reduce its activities to Israel from 17 weekly flights to 14 beginning November 1, the Globes (Tel Aviv) reports. The airline will also reduce the number of available seats per flight, replacing the Boeing 777 aircraft (264 seats) with the smaller Boeing 767 aircraft (176 seats) for its London-Tel Aviv route.

According to British Airways Israel commercial manager Alex Rabino, the reduction comes due to expectations that passenger traffic will decline during the winter months. German airline company Lufthansa, which operates three weekly flights from Munich to Tel Aviv, is now also considering a reduction in the number of seats per flight.
