Chief Operating Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Corp. Rolf Eckrodt said on Thursday the company expects a 6 percent reduction in its 2001 US vehicle sales due to the September 11 terrorist attack on New York. However, he said that the company hopes to reduce the drop to 3 percent with a number of counter measures, including limited discounts.
Eckrodt added that Mitsubishi's European sales are expected to drop by two percent, but the attacks are not expected to have any effect on the Japanese market.
