TURKEY: IMF DISCUSSES TURKEY'S FINANCIAL SITUATION.(International Monetary Fund)(Brief Article)

A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has began talks on Monday with the Turkish government, about the release of $3 billion due to Turkey under its existing agreement with the IMF, AP reports. The IMF and the World Bank (WB) are lending Turkey a combined $15.7 billion this year.

The talks are also expected to address Turkey's request for another $10 billion in loans next year to close a projected financing gap. Turkey's economy is expected to shrink by at least 8.5 percent this year.
