CHINA: CHINA MOBILE & CHINA UNICOM TO ALLOW USERS TO SEND SMSS BETWEEN THE TWO NETWORKS.(short message services)(Brief Article)

China Mobile and China Unicom, the Chinese mobile operators, have signed an agreement to allow users to send text messages freely between the two networks. The two mobile operators shall launch the new text service in Beijing, in Shanghai and in the north-eastern province of Jilin by February 10th 2002, according to the Shanghai Morning Post.

Users on both networks will be able to exchange short message service (SMS) messages throughout China by May 1st 2002. -(EMEconomy.com)
