JORDAN: GOVT. PREPARES TO SELL STAKE IN APC AS PRIVATIZATION CONTINUES.

According to "Jordan Times", the government plans to sell half of its stake in the Arab Potash Company (APC) as part of the privatization drive charted for this year, a senior government official said. Three international potash firms have shown interest in acquiring 26 per cent of the government's 52.8 per cent holdings in the company, the official said.
They are Kali und Salz of Germany, Mitsubishi of Japan, and the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan of Canada, informed sources said. The move is in line with the government's IMF-backed economic reform program that targets complete or partial sale of state-owned firms.
