SUDAN: SECURITY MEASURES AT THE NATIONAL AIRPORT.(Khartoum International Airport)(Brief Article)

A-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted the airport representative, Ahmed Zamravi, who stated that in early November 2001, the Civil Aviation Authority took every measure at its disposal to prevent illegal infiltration of aircraft into Sudanese airspace. Security measures were also installed at Khartoum International Airport, with the aim of preventing weapons or dangerous substances from entering the country and preventing terrorist actions.
The newspaper states that the Aviation Authority is a relatively new governmental office, responsible for the current operation of the Civil Aviation Authority, the authority supervising civil aviation, and Sudan Air. It is also responsible for the smooth running of the country's National and International Airports.
