UAE: DATA ON THE CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OF DUBAI IN 2001.(Brief Article)

Al-Ittihad newspaper quoted details of the further development of the Dubai International Airport in 2001 as published in January 2002 by the UAE Civil Aviation Authority. Work on the second stage of the airport development commenced, costing an estimated DH 9 million. It includes enlargement of the terminal to process sixty million passengers per year instead of twenty-five million presently, and construction of a large center for the marketing of flowers.
In addition, work is progressing on improving airport security which requires a large investment. Also planned is the inauguration of an Internet center for publicity and tourism marketing, and tourism advertising on CNN-TV.
