CHINA: CHINA MOBILE'S PROFITS ROSE BY 55% IN 2001.(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

China Mobile (Hong Kong) Limited, China's leading mobile operator, has announced that its operating revenue in 2001 reached 100.3 billion yuan (US$12.1 billion), reflecting a rise by 54% since the figure posted in the previous year. The company's net profits amounted to 28 billion yuan (US$3.4 billion), reflecting a rise by 55% compared with the figure reported in the year 2000.

Last year, China Mobile's number of users rose by 24.509 million, and amounted to 69.643 million subscribers. This figure represents a market share of approximately 72.4%, according to the People's Daily.
