Al-Ba'ath newspaper gave details of the meeting between the Transport Minister, Eng. Makram Ubayd, with a delegation of representatives from the European Investment Bank. The paper noted that the meeting was held in early February 2002 and the participants included the Assistant of the Transport Minister, Dr.
Shafiq Dawud, the Directors of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Director of Infrastructure in the Transport Ministry, the Director of the Port of Tartus, and the Director of the Railroad Authority.
