JORDAN: AID FROM THE UNIDO AGENCY TO LOCAL INDUSTRY.(United Nations Industrial Development Organization; development aid for Jordan)(Brief Article)

A-Dustour newspaper quoted the Manager of the Investment Unit of the UNIDO agency of the United Nations, Ms. Monica Carlo, who said in March 2002 that the organization intends to aid Jordanian development during 2002 in three main areas: olive oil production; the production of cosmetics from Dead Sea minerals; and the processing of marble and granite for construction.
She added that about fourteen Italian Companies intend to invest in Jordan, and that 112 Jordanian Companies will be included in the organization program for financial aid.
