INDIA: HUTCHISON ESSAR TO OFFER VOICE MESSAGING IN INDIA.(Brief Article)

Hutchison Essar, the Indian mobile operator, has announced that it plans to start offering voice-messaging services by teaming up with TeliVoice. Subscribers of Hutchison Essar will be able to send voice messages to mobile phones as well as to fixed-line phones in the USA and Canada for 5.99 Rupees (US$0.12) per minute, according to The Tribune.
Sudershan Banerjee, the CEO of Hutchison Essar, stated that messages can also be sent between Hutchison subscribers on Orange (in Mumbai), Celforce (Gujarat) and Command (Kolkata). This will cost subscribers 2.99 Rupees (US$0.06) per minute. The voice messaging services have been developed together with Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia's TeliVoice.
