The ET-NCAER Business Confidence Index (BCI) rose by 10.8% in April 2002, compared to its level in January 2002. This reflects that consumer confidence in India has increased. The index has been executed by the Economic Times together with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
NCAER has been conducting surveys on business expectations in India since April 1991. The BCI examines business cycles and is measured by the responses of the business sector with respect to present business conditions and to future expectations, according to the Economic Times. -(EMEconomy.com)
