On Monday, Volkswagen (VW) in Mexico returned to the scheme of a five day working week, with two days of rest. This means that almost 6,000 workers will no longer receive the Saturday premium, which is equivalent to 120% of the daily wage. Miguel Angel Galan Hernandez, a member of the Board of the Independent Union of Workers of Automotive Industry VW, stated that the company's decision has nothing to do with their intention to reduce the number of working days and as well as cutting the wages, according to El Universal.
