QATAR: TALKS FOR FUNDING "DOLPHIN" PROJECT.(Dolphin Energy Co.)(Brief Article)

Al-Bayan newspaper quoted a reliable source who told the paper in May 2002 that the Dolphin Energy Company reopened its agreement with the Bank Credit Swiss First Boston Investment Bank in order to enable the receipt of an additional investment of $3.5 billion to fund the natural gas pipeline system project in the UAE.
The paper noted that both the sides signed in January 2002 an agreement for the funding of the gas pipeline project which will enable the flow of Qatari natural gas to the UAE. The paper estimated that these talks will end in June 2002 after the Occidental Petroleum Company will join the project as a strategic partner.
