Even though the target date for reaching an agreement in the Cyprus question by the end of June was not met, the United States will continue to remain very active in its efforts to help reach a solution to the Cyprus problem, US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Monday, according to Cyprus News Agency.

"The goal of getting some kind of agreement by the end of the month of June was not met," Boucher told a press briefing, adding that Washington continues to consider the Cyprus question, "a very important issue and one that we want to pursue in conjunction with the United Nations". "You will continue to find the United States, as well as the United Nations, very active in that regard", the State Department's spokesman said.
