AFGHANISTAN: AFGHANI FOREIGN MINISTER: OSAMA BIN LADEN, MULLAH OMAR STILL ALIVE.
IPR Strategic Business Information Database, July, 2002
Afghan foreign minister Abdallah Abdallah said on Tuesday that his country's government has evidence that Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and Taliban movement leader Mullah Omar are still alive. Al-Jazeera satellite channel quoted Abdallah as saying that he has no idea whether other members of the Al-Qaeda network are still alive, however the Afghan intelligence is quite sure that Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar are still alive, though their location is not yet known, KUNA reported.
Meanwhile, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said Monday that Osama bin Laden was probably killed, but he added that he could not confirm that.
