CHINA: MICROSOFT SIGNS MOU WITH CHINA'S SDPC.(memorandum of understanding, State Development Planning Commission)(Brief Article)

Microsoft's visiting chief executive officer Steve Ballmer last week signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China's top economic planning body - the State Development Planning Commission (SDPC) - covering education and training, academic research and co-operation, hardware manufacturing outsourcing, support in software outsourcing and strategic investments in local software companies, according to Business Weekly.

The MOU, said to be the largest Sino-foreign software co-operation deal to date, will lead to Microsoft investing US$750 million) in China in the next three years. The two sides will form a committee, to be co-chaired by SDPC Minister Zeng Peiyan and Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, to review and discuss Microsoft's investment strategy. -...
