IRAN: IRANIAN, UAE AGREEMENT TO WIDEN COOPERATION IN AIR CARGO.(Brief Article)

Al-Wifaq newspaper reported on the signing of an agreement to widen the cooperation in the field of air transport of cargo between Iran and the UAE. The paper quoted the General Manager of the Civil Aviation Authority, Muhammad Ghanim al-Ghit, who said in early July 2002 that the new agreement widens the old agreement on the subject which was signed in 1986; it includes an arrangement for 140 daily flights between the two countries, and the opening of a new flight line between them in addition to the two existing flight lines.

The paper noted that a delegation from the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority visited the UAE in June 2002 to negotiate with representatives of the UAE Civil Aviation Authority on this agreement.
