INDIA: MICROSOFT INDIA BETS BIG ON E-GOVERNANCE.(Brief Article)

Microsoft India has had "reasonably good" businesses in the last financial year (July-June) and the company is betting on e-governance to continue with the growth. Company sources said "We had a reasonable good business last fiscal just gone by and it was possible mainly due to the encouraging performance by the servers, Windows XP and Office suit".
According to PTI, in an effort to beat the slowdown, the company is undertaking initiatives in e-governance besides offering IT consultancy to various state governments in preparing blueprints for IT policies. It currently is offering IT consultancy to 10 states and is in talks with several others for the same.
