IRAQ: BAGHDAD SOLICITS SPANISH OIL COMPANY TO RESUME OIL PURCHASE.(Repsol YPF)(Brief Article)

According to Al-Watan newspaper (September 19, 2002), the spokesman of the Spanish Repsol YPF Petroleum Company revealed that Baghdad had solicited Repsol YPF Company to resume Iraqi crude oil purchase, which was suspended in the end of 2000. The company stopped its oil purchases since the Iraqi authorities had previously imposed an illegal fee, which was recently canceled.
The Repsol YPF is an international oil company, engaged in all activities within the hydrocarbon sector.
